WHY? Shampoos are designed to cleanse the hair and scalp, removing dirt particles and grime, they also contain conditioning agents that coat the hair shaft and make the hair appear to be thicker. Conditioners smooth the cuticle scales so the hair doesn't tangle and will also help reflect light, giving extra shine and holding in colour. |

A CHEAP SHAMPOO STILL CLEANS MY HAIR, DOESN'T IT? The old saying "you get what you pay for" is applicable to shampoos and conditioners. A good shampoo will go in and grab dirt particles without stripping away hardly any of the natural sebum. The cheap ones don't, plus after a while they start to build up and can after regular blow-drying cause the hair shaft to split or snap. Always use a product formulated for your hair type. The highest standards of products are available in local high street salons, but if you are visiting one for the first time and don't know the staff make sure you don't have the receptionist flog you half a dozen unsuitable items. Ask a stylist or even speak to the salon owner. By seeing and touching your hair it will not take them long to advise you of the correct products for your hair.
